Who we are
Nodus Studios is a freelance web design and development business based in the United Kingdom. We are the “controller” of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it's used and are responsible for keeping it safe. What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, company (optional), the type of project, budget, timeline and your message.
- Emails and calls. If you email or phone us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
- Website analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't identify you personally or track you across other websites.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
How and why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and discuss your project, which counts as taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To deliver and support work you've hired us for (performing our contract with you).
- To keep our website secure and improve it (our legitimate interests).
- To keep financial records we're legally required to hold (legal obligation).
We never sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share information with trusted services that help us run the business:
- Vercel: website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Resend: delivers contact form enquiries and confirmation emails.
- Our email provider, and accounting tools if you become a client.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that's the case, your information is protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a project are deleted within 12 months.
- Client project records and invoices are kept for 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
- Analytics data is aggregated and doesn't identify you.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookie-free, which is why you won't see a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we'll ask for your consent first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to another organisation.
To make a request, email tommy@nodusstudios.co. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. See also our Terms.
